Des articles du Eastern Door traduits en kanien’kéha
Présentation dans le Montreal Gazette d’une initiative du journal The Eastern Door qui vise à traduire en kanien’kéha (mohawk) des récits racontés par des résidents de Kahnawà:ke.
 
On peut notamment y lire le traducteur Sahawisó:ko’ Arquette qui s’exprime sur son travail:
 
“They call us translators, but we’re really interpreting, especially the more complex sentences and even the simpler ones, believe it or not, that you would think go word for word — they don’t,” said Arquette. “They have to be interpreted. You have to go into the mindset and you have to think Kanien’kéha. You’ve got to think, ‘How would a first-language speaker look at this and what it means and take it apart and say it in the Kanien’kéha mindset?’ You have to be very careful.”
